Medigap plan A Eligibility
You can be eligible for Medigap Plan A if you are eligible for Original Medicare and are already enrolled in it. However, people under the age of 65 are eligible for this plan in some states if they had earlier enrollment into Original Medicare due to disability.
However, the costs can be twice as higher for those younger than 65 than those who enrolled in Medicare at the age of 65.
How much does it cost?
This plan doesn’t cover Part A and Part B deductibles so you’ll need to cover those costs. Your average cost can be 110 to 180$ dollars per month. Those costs are variable and some factors like age, gender, living area, enrollment period, etc. can impact your supplement rates.
This plan can be good if you are looking for lower monthly premiums and don’t travel abroad. However, notice that your out-of-pocket hospital costs will be much higher.
